Band Profile
Donut was formed in the winter of 2001, 4 long time friends all
with previous music backgrounds got together to form an incomparable
sound appropriately named Donut. Donut can be described as Progressive
rock, with a heavier, somewhat comical influence. Bands that have
influenced Donut are Tenacious D, Faith no more and Black Sabbath.
In 2004 Donut entered a contest called Bandfest 2004 where 28 Canadian
bands competed for a promised $25,000 in cash and prizes and Donut
went on to win top prize. To this day we still have not seen any
of the prizes or money which would have given us a chance to record
a professional album, for now we have only a self recorded demo.
